Pam Dent

Pamela Anne (Carter) Dent of Pittsburg, Ks passed away on August 1, 2024 at Via Christi hospital surrounded by her children. 

Pam was born October 7, 1949, to James E. and Charlotte M. (Smith) Carter. She grew up and attended Saint Paul Schools and graduated from the class of 1967. After graduation, she completed cosmetology school in Independence, KS. 







On November 15, 1968, she married Jim Dent and they raised their 5 children while residing in Walnut, KS (they later divorced). Pam enjoyed reading, gardening, going to dinners and taking trips with her girlfriends, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved her neighbors and the small community in which she lived and her two cats Teddy and Franklin. Pam was strong in her faith and was always willing to help those in need in any way that she could.

She is survived by her children: Rob (Melinda) Dent of Pleasanton, KS Julie (Aaron) Burd of Webb City, MO, Lynn Carter of Tulsa, OK, Kate Dent of Frontenac, KS, and Chris (Amanda) Dent of St. Paul, KS. Grandchildren: Justice Dent, Sydney (Kenneth) Haney, Turner Dent, Nicholas (Hailee) Bradshaw, Alec, Jack and Ella Burd, and Easton and Ava Dent, and two great granddaughters: Logan Bradshaw and Baylor Dent. Her sisters: Becky Smith, Lori Umbarger and Meg Beezley, brothers: Jamie Carter and Chris Carter.






 

She was preceded in death by both her parents, oldest brother Steve Carter, and granddaughter Tori Lynn Dent.

The family will receive friends from 6-7p.m at St. Francis Catholic Church in St. Paul on Wednesday August 7th followed by a Rosary. Funeral service will be on Thursday August 8th at 10:00a.m at St. Francis, dinner following.

Memorials are suggested to James E. Carter Scholarship fund and may be left at the service or Carson-Wall Funeral Home, 112 N. 26th Street, PO Box 942, Parsons, KS 67357.
