(From Simpson Funeral Home)Austin Garritt Fox, known to most as Austin and affectionately referred to as "Fox" by his friends and "Audie" by his beloved grandmother, was a radiant, compassionate soul wrapped in a blanket of humor and empathy. Born on August 5, 1987, in Oklahoma City, OK, Austin's 37 years of life were a testament to his love for family, his passion for photography, and his unwavering commitment to bringing joy to those in his orbit.
Growing up in El Reno, Oklahoma, Austin was known for his quick wit and infectious laughter. His high school years in Branson, Missouri, were marked by his budding talent for photography, a skill that later earned him first-place trophies and widespread acclaim. Austin's passion for capturing moments of beauty and joy mirrored his inherent ability to make others feel seen and valued. As Ansel Adams once said, "You don't take a photograph, you make it." Austin didn't just take photos; he crafted stories of warmth and connection that will continue to resonate with those he touched.
Austin was a man of many interests, but none so great as his love for video games and the military. These hobbies brought him much joy and allowed him to connect with others in meaningful ways.
Despite never having been employed or married, Austin was rich in relationships and experiences. His empathy and compassion made him a cherished friend, a beloved family member, and a pillar of his community.
In the words of Dr. Seuss, "To the world, you may be one person, but to one person, you may be the world." Austin embodied this sentiment, most notably in his relationship with his mother. To her, he was the world. Austin was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Fox. His love for his family was the compass that guided his life, the lens through which he viewed the world, and the legacy he leaves behind.
