(From Ozark Funeral Home)Edward Emory Mitchell entered this life on August 21, 1943, in Miami, Oklahoma, born to the union of Everett and Bethel (Cravy) Mitchell. He passed away at the age of 81, on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, in Joplin, Missouri.
Edward's first wife was Mary Logan, to whom five children were born. His second wife was Shirley Stewart, to whom three girls were born. His third wife was Teresa Jones.
Edward was happiest outdoors, where his favorite activities were hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Bethel Mitchell; his son, Jon Mitchell; his brothers, Lesley Mitchell, Gene Mitchell, and Amos Mitchell; and his sister, Lula Davis.
Edward is survived by his children, Susan Mitchell, Anita Deal, Sarah Mitchell, Joe Mitchell, Angela Massey, Amy Rider, and Abby Baber; his brothers, Raymond Mitchell, and Gary Mitchell; his sisters, Lahoma Yaws, Linda Dueker, and Betty Joyce; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Webb Pavilion 1 - Morse Park, in Neosho, Missouri, at 2:00 p.m., with Reverend David Mitchell. Cremation arrangements are under the direct supervision of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
