Leon Price

Ronald "Leon" Price, age 66 of Galena, passed away at his home at 2:12 PM on Friday, May 2, 2025.

Leon was born in Joplin, MO on June 22, 1958. His parents were Jackie Claude Price and Lillian Lois (Hall) Price. He graduated from Galena High School with the class of 1976 and was a lifelong resident of Galena. He served his country for two years in the US Army.

Throughout the years, he worked as a foreman, and handyman before his retirement in 2021. Even after his retirement, he always had a project, influenced by his creative side and artistic eye. He enjoyed fishing, serving others, and visiting with anyone he came in contact with. His Christian Faith was extremely important to him, especially late in his life. He was a member of Jesus Name Church on the Hill. Above all else he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by one son, Trevor Price of Galena; two daughters, Alicia Baker of Galena, and Megean Reed (husband, Jake) of Galena; seven grandchildren, Alexis, Jazmin, Ryder, Kambree, Taigen, Adelheid, and Kash; two sisters, Jackie Sue (husband, Stephen), and Marie (husband, Rusty), four brothers, Arthur (wife, Angela), Dean (wife, Paula), David (wife, Amy), and Donnie; step-children, Joshua Davis (wife, Leslie), and Greg Smith (wife, Hiliary).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jackie and Lillian Price; one brother, Bill Price.

Mr. Price has been entrusted to Derfelt Funeral Home of Galena for cremation. The family will host a memorial visitation from 11am to 1pm on Saturday May, 24th at Central City Christian Church, Joplin, MO.
