(From Clark Funeral Home)Peggy Lee Cosby, of Granby, Missouri, passed away on May 13, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on March 18, 1933, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, she was the daughter of William and Stella Hensley.
Peggy graduated from high school and went on to pursue a career in real estate, working for Carden & Co. in El Paso, Texas, and later for Century 21 in Neosho Mo. Her warmth and dedication made her a trusted professional and a friend to many.
Peggy was married to Benny Hendon Sr., who she had 4 children with and preceded her in death. She later married Leonard Robbins, who also preceded her in death on May 14, 1984. On February 14, 1990, she married to Henry “Hank” Cosby, who preceded her in death on May 29, 2022.
She and Benny moved from El Paso, Texas, to rural Granby, Missouri, where they built and opened a feed store Hendon & Son Payway Feeds, the building remains in operation today as the Granby Feed Store.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Peggy shared her love of music through conducting and teaching. She was a gifted singer with a deep appreciation for classical music and took great joy in sharing that love with others.
Peggy was also known for her culinary talents, especially her unmatched skill in making the perfect pie crust—a treat cherished by family and friends alike.
She is survived by her children, Linda Norris of Allen, Texas; Janet Hendon of Granby, Missouri; and her son Ben Hendon of Granby, Missouri; her sister, Norma Welch of Pompano Beach, Florida; six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susanne Becker, and her brother, William Hensley.
