(From Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home)Robert Earl Gordon, Sr., age 69, of Webb City, Missouri, departed this life peacefully on Thursday, May 1, 2025, after a recent battle with cancer. He entered this life on May 17, 1955, in Webb City, son of the late Jesse Gordon, Sr. and Bonnie (Reed) Gordon.
A lifelong resident of Webb City, Robert was 1973 graduate of Webb City High School. His dedication to his hometown was evident in his long-standing career with the Webb City Water Department. Starting as a meter reader right out of high school, he worked diligently for forty-five years, eventually retiring as Water Superintendent.
Robert's passion for the outdoors was a defining aspect of his character. An avid hunter and fisherman, he found solace and joy in the natural beauty that surrounded him. His love for animals was just as profound, especially for his beloved dog, Bill, who was a constant and loyal companion. Robert's daily walks with his granddaughter, Charlotte, were a source of immense happiness and created cherished memories that will be treasured by his family.
On March 4, 1977, he was united in marriage to Kimberly Faye White and together they shared forty-six years before her passing on January 5, 2024. Also preceding him in death are his parents; and one brother, Jesse Gordon, Jr.
He is survived by his two sons, Robert Gordon, Jr. and wife, Amanda and Christopher Gordon; six grandchildren, Devinne, Colby, Mikey, Colton, Charlotte and Dalton; a brother, Mark Gordon and wife, Treva; a sister, Mary Powell; sister-in-law, Mary Gordon; as well as a host of other family and friends.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Webb City, Missouri, with Pastor Kyle Beverlin officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
