Lynda L. Summers, 71, of Carl Junction, Missouri died at 7:12 p.m., Tuesday, January 1, 2019 in Mercy Hospital in Joplin, where she entered December 25.
Lynda was born May 2, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter of Eugene and Jackie (Sharp) Munson.
She grew up and attended schools in Girard and graduated from Girard High School. Lynda married Michael Morris of Girard. They later divorced. They had three children, Troy Morris, Beth Chaney and Adam Morris.
She later moved to Joplin and married Robert Summers January 17, 2002. He survives of the home.
She was a member of the Dry Valley United Methodist Church near Wentworth, Missouri.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, Robert, of the home are sons Troy Morris and his wife Jennifer; Adam Morris and wife Monica; James Summers and wife Erin, Rob Chappell and wife Krystal; daughters Beth Chaney, Tonya Lovy and husband Don, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; a brother Sandy Horton and his wife Shari of Pittsburg; sister Dana Cook and her husband James of Fort Worth, Texas.
She was proceeded in death by her father; her mother; her stepfather, Joe Horton; a sister, Penny Smith; a sister, Connie Munson; a brother Charles (infant).; a niece Megan Smith.
Visitation will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday January 5,, 2019 with funeral services to follow at 11:00 am at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home of Girard. Friends may call after 2 pm Friday.
Memorials are suggested to the Dry Valley United Methodist Church and these may be left at the funeral home, 518 W St. John, Box 258, Girard, 66743.
