Mary Ann Herron

Mary Ann Knight-Herron, 65, Carthage, Missouri passed safely into the arms of Jesus for the home He had prepared for her, on Monday October 12, 2020 at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Missouri.

Mary Ann was born July 26, 1955 at McCune Brooks Hospital, Carthage, Missouri. The daughter of the late John and Erma (Manka) Knight. She was a graduate of Jasper, Missouri High School class of 1973 and attended Missouri Southern State College.

Mary married Bill Herron October 11, 2012 at Central Park in Carthage, Mary was employed by Dyno Nobel for over 40 years. She was a Christian and was baptized at an early age at Mt. Moriah Methodist Church, Carthage, MO. She enjoyed being part of the Glory Riders Christian Motorcycle Association and held the office of treasurer. 








Mary enjoyed cooking and was very good at it. She also enjoyed sewing costumes for her grandchildren, nieces and nephews for various plays and parties. She enjoyed bowling, golf and camping with her husband during hunting season. Most of all Mary loved her family, she followed all of her grandchildren’s activities.

Survivors include her husband Bill, daughters Mylinn (Josh) Eddington, Stephanie Gruver (Brandy Blanton), Bethany Herron (FiancĂ© Trevor Willard), son Brandyn Carr-Herron (Eric Edward), Grandchildren Landrey Gruver, Logan, Lainah and Sara Eddington, Armando and Kim Guzman. Brothers Cy (Cid) Knight, Willie (Donna) Knight, Gale Knight all of Carthage and two brother-in-law’s Bob Copeland of Plainview, Texas, Steve Herron (Cindy) of Springfield and three sister-in-laws Winona Knight of Carthage, Susan Wallace (Rick) of Neosho, Launie Dalton (Max) Anderson, Nieces Carlene (Mark) Bridges, Paige (Brian) Sitton and Miriam Copeland. Nephews Eric (Debbie) Knight, John (Carrie) Knight and Gerald (Marcie) Knight and Special friends Frank and Sue Shumard. 

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, sister Rebecca Copeland, two great nieces Anna Beth Sitton and Kori Ann Knight. A very special thanks to the nurses and healthcare team at Freeman Hospital for their kindness to Mary and the family during our stay.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday October 15, 2020 at Ulmer Funeral Home. Contributions can be made to the Joplin Humane Society. Online condolences can be made at www.ulmerfh.com
