(From Simpson Funeral Home)Clara Mae Edgar age 65 of Joplin, Missouri passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Carthage Health & Rehab. She was born on February 8, 1955 in Kansas City, Missouri to George K. Schumann and Jodie Helen (Baumann) Schumann.
Clara went to McAuley Catholic High School and graduated in the class of 1973. She went on to attend Missouri Southern State College before starting work in the advertising department of the Joplin Globe, where she retired from in 2004. Clara attended St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church her whole life.
She married Glenn E. Edgar on August 8, 1979 and he preceded her in death on September 19, 2000.
Clara was also preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, JoAnn T. Broyles.
She is survived by her son, Nathan Edgar; grandchildren, Lily Morrison, Ethan Edgar, Gunner Edgar, Hank Edgar, Mercury Edgar; cousins, Warren Augustus, Galen Augustus, Linda, Susan, and Judy. Clara has been taken for cremation and by her request no services are planned at this time.
