Ben Cooper

Benjamin Allan Cooper, age 29, Joplin, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 after a long battle with addiction.

Ben was born June 22, 1991 in Joplin, Missouri to Steven Cooper and Melissa (Ryder) Martin and had lived in the Joplin area all of his life, although he had spent time in Colorado and Florida and loved both.

Ben attended both College Heights and Carl Junction schools where he made many lifelong friends, with friends remaining a focal point of his life. Ben was currently waiting tables at a local restaurant, having held a variety of jobs, making and keeping friends at each. He particularly loved bartending at casinos, he loved anyplace he could socialize.








Ben had also recently attended Crowder College with the goal of becoming an Occupational Therapist. He desired to work with and help people. Ben acquired a love for hunting and fishing at an early age and they remained a lifelong passion. Ben also enjoyed cooking and feeding people and was very good at this. 

Ben had a great love for people and gatherings of friends and family and enjoyed any opportunity to do so. Ben would always be the center of attention with his great sense of humor and his joyous personality. Ben particularly cherished the holidays and the gathering of family. He will be missed by everyone that knew and loved him. He was baptized in the Christian Church.

Ben was preceded in death by his grandmother, Donna Cooper and grandfathers, Norman Ryder and Bill Cooper.

Survivors include his father, Steven Cooper; mother, Melissa Martin and husband, Steve; brother, Jacob Cooper; nephews; Samsun Cooper and Titus Cooper; grandmother Colleen Ryder; aunts and uncles; Chris Thorn and wife, Shenan, Susan Beitzinger and husband, John, Bill Cooper; and numerous extended family members and friends.

Funeral Services are planned for Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Mortuary Chapel, burial will follow at 1:30pm at Mulberry, KS. Chaplain Steve Cooper and Pastor Doug Wilkerson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Mortuary.

Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
