Alan Creek

Dr. Douglas Alan Creek, age 74, Joplin, passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2021 at his home.

Dr. Creek was born August 19, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of the late Douglas W. Creek and June Anita (McCallum) Creek. 

He served in the United States Army stationed in Vietnam before returning to start his career. He received his education in Kansas City, and after several career choices, settled on being a doctor to help those in need. 








He worked as a private practice doctor at Medical One, 102 W. 2nd St. in Joplin for several years, and also worked in several locations throughout the United States as an Emergency Room Physician. He recently returned to Joplin.

He is survived by his wife, Lori Creek of Joplin; children, Shelby Creek of Overland Park, Kansas, Alex Creek (Alex) of Chicago, Illinois, Heather Dame (Colby) of Joplin, Hailey Davis (Anthony) of Gaithersburg, Maryland, Jared Packer (Fliscia) of Joplin, and Jacob Packer of Carl Junction; grandchildren, Conner, Kimber, Carter, Jarek, Adalynn, Emryn, and one on the way; former wife, Rebecca Creek of Overland Park, Kansas; step-mother, Pilar Creek; brother, Sparky Creek, Val Ford, and Ann Djore all of California; several nieces and nephews. He was also very fond of his pets, Bentley and Czar the Cat.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary.
