George Leishing

George Leishing, age 77, Carterville, Missouri passed away February 19, 2021 at his home following a short illness.

He was born April 6, 1943 in Springfield, Missouri to Floyd and Donna (England) Leishing.

George was a minister for Tarkio Full Gospel Church and the music minister for several area churches. He also worked in HVAC for Cardinal Scales and for himself. 








He served as a Military Policeman in the United States Army with service in Korea and West Point. He was a former member of the American Legion. George was the founder and former president of the Joplin chapter of Christian Motorcycle Association. He was a member of Cornerstone Revival Church.

He married Ann Ash, the love of his life, on May 5, 1961 in Kansas City, Kansas and she survives. He is also survived by two sons, Jeffrey Leishing and Brad, Springfield, Missouri; George Leishing Jr and Ashli, Joplin, Missouri, three daughters, Darla Hightower and Vincent, Joplin, Missouri, Dianna Devore-McKaig and John, Nixa, Missouri, Rhonda Leishing, Webb City, Missouri; 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren as well as numerous extended family and friends.

George was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.

Full services will be 2:00 pm Saturday February 27, 2021 at Cornerstone Revival Center with Morris Cleveland and Greg Martin officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Carterville Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00-6:00 pm Friday February 26, 2021 at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
