Bill Raven

Sgt. William Daniel “Bill” Raven, age 71, Joplin, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2021 at Freeman West Hospital.

William was born October 17, 1949 in Elgin, Illinois, son of the late Clifford Richard Raven and Lula “LuLu” Madge (Allen) Raven. 

He graduated from high school before joining the United States Army serving in Vietnam. He retired as a Sergeant with the Army in 1972, and then drove a truck part time in Kansas City. He was an active member of the VFW where he served as a past District Commander, was a former officer with the American Legion, and a was a lifetime member of the DAV and Purple Heart Association.








In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by Brothers Earle Bradley and James Bradley, and Sister Betty Larson.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Paula Jean (Phillips) Raven; daughter, Michelle Lee Raven of Hatfield, Arkansas; grandchildren, Brandon Raven, Charles Richardson, and Alvin Richardson all of Hatfield; sisters, Marylyn Jean Hawkins of Wisconsin, and Ruth Price of Arizona; brothers, Paul Brotzman of Illinois, Keith Larson of Texas; several nieces and nephews.
