James Pete Anastosopolos, age 77 of Carthage, Missouri passed away Saturday February 6, 2021.
He was born May 11, 1943 in Joplin, Missouri to Pete James and Mary Anaostosopolos.
James was a diesel mechanic and loved working on cars and had received numerous trophies for the work he had done. He was called the “Diesel Doctor” and “The Greek” He worked for several shops including, Freightliner, Peterbilt, and Kenworth. James also did machine work for O & F Machine. He was a member of the Purcell Baptist Church.
He is survived by one son, James Anastosopolos and wife Pam, Carterville, Missouri, one daughter, Melissia Ames and husband Kevin, Webb City, Missouri, one brother Pete Anastosopolos, two grandchildren, Connor and Erin Ames, two great grandchildren, Emma and Evan Hendricks. James is also survived by numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
In lieu of flowers the family request contributions to Purcell Baptist Church and they may be sent in care of the mortuary.
Private family services will be held followed by cremation.
