Herbert Waring

Herbert Lee Waring, 89, passed away on Thursday February 11, 2021. He was born in Oskaloosa, MO to Ray and Nancy (Watson) Waring on September 15, 1931. 

Herbert went to school through the 7th grade and then he, his brother, and father followed the harvest, jumping trains to get to the next town. 

Herbert married Marcia Kay Ford/ Fearnow on January 1, 1975 in Golden City, MO. He worked for 30 years as a set up man in the wood shop at O Sullivan’s and retired in 1994. He went on to build a house with his son. 








He remodeled many houses, wallpapered, and did sheet rock work. Herbert was a quiet man who enjoyed the simple life. He enjoyed going on drives in the country. His favorite place to be was in the yard, trimming grass and taking care of his flower beds. He enjoyed it so much that he even worked in his daughter’s yard when they visited her in Tulsa, OK. He enjoyed playing cards, and dominos when he was winning. 

He is survived by his wife Kay, children, Herbert Waring Jr. of Joplin, MO, Wayne Waring of Liberal, MO, Julie (Scott) Parker, Lamar, MO, Tuesday Dunn of Tulsa, OK, Robert Fearnow (Kristen) of Nevada, MO, Steven Fearnow (Debbie) of Lockwood, MO, Teresa Baumann (Mike) of Pittsburg, KS; 9 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Elsie Cada of Pueblo, Co, Elena Dodson of Las Animas, CO, Linda Overall of Sands Spring, OK, Jack Waring of Las Animas, CO, Bob Roy of Tulsa, OK, and many nieces, nephews, and other family members. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, infant daughter, and a great-granddaughter. 

The family will receive visitors from 1-2 PM on Monday February 15, 2021 at Konantz Warden Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM.
