(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Frankie J. Copher, age 84, of Joplin, MO, passed away on April 8, 2021at Spring River Christian Village, following an illness.
Frankie was born on September 27, 1936 in Joplin the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Reed) Roland. She has been a lifetime area resident.
She married Benny Copher, Jr. on March 19, 1954, and together they were blessed with three sons. She worked for Economic Security Head Start. Following retirement, she worked with her daughter-in-law at Nana’s Daycare. She enjoyed gardening and reading novels. She was a past member of Duenweg Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband on February 5, 2003; one son, Joseph Aaron Copher; three brothers, Ralph Roland. John Roland, and Keith Roland; and two sisters, Sarah Louise Spencer, and Nina O’Neal.
Frankie is survived by two sons, Edward “Ed” Copher and wife Brenda, Joplin, and James Copher and wife Joyce; one brother, Theron “Pete” Roland and wife Joan, Belton, MO; one sister, Sylvia Medly and husband Dwayne, Lakeland, FL; six grandchildren, James Copher, Jr., Jeremy Copher, Eric Copher, Felicia Matthews and husband Keith, Autumn Massa and husband Mario, and Nathan Copher; and six great-grandchildren, Bryson, Brecklyn, Zakkery, Joyclynn, Memphis, and Witten.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at Mason-Woodard Chapel. Lynn Ragsdale, Minister will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Sunday. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of the mortuary.
