Maria Pham Vu

(From Knell Mortuary)

May 24, 1965 – October 10, 2026

Maria Huyên Phạm Vũ was the kind of person who made a house feel like home. Born in Saigon, Vietnam, on May 24, 1965, she carried the warmth, strength, and vibrant spirit of her roots into every part of her life.

Maria’s life was guided by her Catholic faith and her deep love for family. A devoted member of her local parish, she spent years volunteering and generously giving her time to support her church community.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: tending to her garden, singing her heart out during karaoke, and gathering with friends and family over good food and a nice, cold beer. Her kitchen was often filled with the comforting flavors of authentic Vietnamese cooking. She loved feeding the people she cared about, though she would happily admit that she enjoyed it even more when someone else did the cooking. Although she always dreamed of traveling the world, she created a beautiful life at home filled with love, laughter, music, and cherished traditions.

Above all, family was Maria’s greatest treasure. She was the loving wife of Joseph Vũ and the proud mother of Hamilton, Jennifer, Jonathan, and Jeffrey. But perhaps her favorite title was Grandma. Her face lit up around her beloved grandchildren, Ashton (“Bánh Bao”) and Marleau (“Marshmarleau”), who brought endless joy and happiness to her life.

Maria will be remembered for her generous heart, joyful laughter, vibrant spirit, and unwavering love for those around her. Though her passing leaves a profound void, the memories she created, the traditions she shared, and the love she gave will continue to live on through her family and everyone fortunate enough to have known her.

Forever loved, deeply missed, and always remembered.

Maria is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph Vũ; her loving children, Hamilton, Jennifer, Jonathan, and Jeffrey; and her cherished grandchildren, Ashton and Marleau.

Rosary will be read at 8:30 pm Tuesday, October 13, 2023 at Congregation of the Mother of the Redeemer. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 am Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at Congregation of the Mother of the Redeemer. Burial will immediately follow in Park Cemetery Carthage, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of Knell Mortuary.
