(From Ozark Funeral Home)Vickie Jan Jansen, 68, departed this life on Saturday morning, October 10, 2026, in the comfort of her home in Anderson, Missouri, after a two-year battle with cancer.
She was born on December 4, 1957, in Stella, Missouri, one of nine children born to the union of the late Charles and Dolores (Boyd) Patterson. She was raised in rural Anderson, Missouri and attended McDonald County Schools.
Vickie married Max Watkins and together they built a creekside cabin near Pineville, MO where they proudly resided and raised their son. Vickie loved caring for her property and spending time outdoors on Big Sugar Creek. She was a loyal employee to her neighbor, working as his paint specialist at Wholesale Auto Paint in Rogers, Arkansas for more than fifteen years. She later left her job to care for Max during the last few years of his life, a reflection of the deep devotion and love she gave to her family.
Vickie was later remarried to Fred Jansen. They bonded through many shared interests but one of their treasured highlights was traveling extensively throughout the United States and overseas. These journeys brought her joy and created memories that she cherished. She embraced life with curiosity and appreciation, and she found happiness in both the simple routines of home and the excitement of new adventure. One of her favorite past times was the pleasure of taking a drive down an old dirt road. She loved a leisurely drive and could be found spending Sundays with her mother exploring new routes or old familiar places.
She also loved her grandkids dearly and never missed any of their events. Her support meant everything to them, and she was a constant source of encouragement, pride, and love. She also enjoyed taking her dogs and going on golf cart rides, which brought her comfort and pleasure in her daily life.
She is survived by her son, Jonathan Patterson and wife, Holly; her grandchildren Rylee, Peyton, and Oakley along with 15 more combined grand and great grandchildren; four step-children, Rosie Frencken and husband, Jeff, Randy Richardson and wife, Sandra, Sharon Netherton and husband, Mike, and Mike Jansen and wife, Dena; eight siblings, Charlotte Walker, Billie Kay Alumbaugh and husband, Mark, Jerry Patterson and wife, Anita, Hope Haddock and husband, Jerry, Becky Leonard and husband, Scott, John Patterson, Chuck Patterson, and Scott Patterson and wife, Lynnette; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends. Her spouses, Max Watkins and Fred Jansen preceded her in death.
Visitation is at 10:00 and Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri with Pastor Scott Leonard officiating.
