Betty Baglien

Betty L. Baglien, 93, Carthage, passed away Tuesday, February 17, 2015 at her home after a lengthy illness.  Betty Lavon Lown was born October 12, 1921 in Duenweg, MO, a daughter of the late Martin Lown and Maggie May Ackerson Lown.  She was a high school graduate of Duenweg High School, Duenweg, MO. She married Ragnar Rupert Baglien on December 31, 1965 in Hinderville, Illinois; he preceded her in death on February 16, 2000. 

Survivors include three daughters; Linda McRae, Springlake, Michigan, Cindy Oegema, Grand Haven, MI, Kathy Alexander, Grand Havin, MI; two sons, Dan Baglien, Muskegan, MI, Bob Baglien, Muskegan, MI; eight grandchildren, Sandra Jordan, Carthage, MO, Michael Bittick, Ellisville, MO, John Bittick, Joplin, MO, Jennifer Langhoff, Pensacola, FL, Thomas Bittick, Milton, FL, Raymond Bittick, Panama City, FL, Katie Baglien, Muskegan, MI, Ryan Baglien; and many other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by one son; David M. Bittick; one granddaughter, Cinthia Ott; and two sisters, Wilma Steward and Florence Coyner.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 - 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 21, at the Latter Day Saints Church, Carthage, MO.  Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM. Private family burial will take place on a later date at Mt.
