Gary "Cannonball" Wade

Gary H. ‘Cannonball’ Wade, 74, Neosho, died February 3, 2015 in Joplin. 

Gary was born June 10, 1940 in Galena, Kansas, the son of Everett and Elizabeth (Lizzy) Wade. Gary was a member of the Galena High School class of 1957 and served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962 aboard the USS Lexington (CV-16). He was the owner and operator of Wades Ozark Poultry Service; Wades Truck Stop; Wades CafĂ©; Wades Wrecker Service and in 1970, he was employed as a poultry buyer for Tyson Foods. He started B and D Produce, Inc., in Neosho in 1982 and currently owned and operated Fifty/Fifty Transportation with his wife, Kay. He belonged to a Masonic Lodge in Galena, the Poultry Association and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Galena. Gary lived a life of love for family and friends and was a great man, who gave strength to everyone in his life and gave all an example of how to live. He was a wonderful father and husband and will be missed by all of us. 

Gary is survived by his wife, Kay Wade of the home; four children, Tammy Thogmartin and husband, Bill of Neosho; Scott Wade and wife, Christina of Neosho; Chris Myers and wife, Sharon of Seneca and Justin Myers of Neosho; six grandchildren, Lucas Thogmartin, Brandon Farley, Ryan Wade, Spencer Farley, Laci Thogmartin and Adrien Myers; five great grandchildren, one sister, Norma Gandy and the mother of his children, Jan (Wade) Skistimas and a blessing of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clinton Wade and Oral Wade and beloved pet, Cookie.
