Nancy Myrtle Mallams, age 91 of Joplin, Missouri passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 at her home following an extended illness.
Nancy was born to Otto Bell and Ethel Head Bell in Platte City, MO on September 8, 1923. She graduated from Central High School in Kansas City and later moved to Joplin. Nancy and her first husband owned and operated a wholesale sandwich company in Joplin called Chef Whiz for many years. She was a member of Forest Park in Joplin.
On January 26, 1943 she married Frank Schaefer in Kansas City, MO. He preceded her in death in August of 1975. She is also preceded in death by two other husbands, O'dell Boyer and Raymond Mallams. Additionally, a brother, Archie Bell; sister, Mary Carlin who passed away the very next day of Nancy; grandson, Nick Frising; great-grandson, Deonte Mallams; son in-law, Nic Frising.
Surviving Nancy would be a daughter, Nancy Frising of Joplin; son, John Mallams and wife Sharon of Mound City, Kansas; step children, David Boyer, Dan Boyer, Gary Mallams, Chuck Mallams and Mike Mallams; brother, Glenn Bell and wife Marilyn of Ft. Myers, Florida; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Webb City.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
