Dwight Wilson

Mr. Dwight C. Wilson of Carl Junction, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. 

Dwight was born on March 25, 1925 in Alcester, South Dakota to David C. Wilson and Jessie Hamilton Wilson. Dwight’s life in Alcester was devoted to his church as a deacon and a teacher for over 40 years, his family as a brother, husband, and father, and his work as a farmer. He was also member of the Lions Club of Alcester and a member of First Baptist Church of Webb City. 

Dwight married June E. Leafstedt on August 28, 1947 and she survives at home. Additional survivors include three sons, Steven Wilson and wife Lori of Eden Prairie, Minnesota , Clark B. Wilson and wife Rachelle of Carl Junction and Jeffrey D. Wilson and wife Sandy of Joplin; a sister Ramona Erickson of Hawarden, Iowa; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 2, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Webb City with Dr. Joe Dan Fowler and Rev. Ron Woody officiating. Burial will be at the Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. The visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the funeral at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Webb City. Pallbearers will be Brad Wilson, Dustin Woods, Luke Cole, Brian Jarrard, Kal Bergdale, Kim Eilers, and Brian Wilson. Memorials in memory of Mr. Dwight C. Wilson can be made to the Haitian Living Bridge in Haiti, in care of the funeral home. 

Arrangements are under the direction of the Simpson Funeral Home of Webb City.
