Thelma “June” Henson, age 82, of Joplin, passed away on Tuesday February 17, 2015, at Freeman Hospital, following an illness.
June was born on May 11, 1932 in Jasper, Mo., the daughter of the late Harvey and Ruby (Miller) Allager. She has been a lifetime area resident. She was a member of the Greenwood Baptist Church. She owned and operated June’s Boutique on Main Street of Joplin. She enjoyed reading.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Carlton Rod, and by her second husband Jim Henson, and by her daughter, Ranae Ayers in May of 2012. June is survived by one son, Brad York and his wife Gina, Joplin, one sister, Betty Willis, Springfield, Mo.; three grandchildren, Amber Ayers, Dayton Ayers, and Paige Himes; and one great-grandchild, Zowie Ayers. It was June’s wish to be cremated. No formal services are planned at this time.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory.
