Elinor Hensley

Elinor Jean Hensley, 92, of Carthage passed away at 1:15 a.m. Saturday February 21, 2015 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center in Carthage. 

Elinor was born October 11, 1922 in Tonganoxie, Kansas. She was the daughter of William Oelschlaeger and Emma “Scheidt” Oelschlaeger. Elinor was a resident of Carthage for the past fifty years and was a homemaker. 

Elinor was united in marriage to James Hensley on March 5, 1952. He preceded her in death on April 23, 1994. Elinor is survived by three daughters; Ellen Quarton of Carthage, Patricia Miller of Topeka, KS and Sherrie Greer and her husband Darren of Phoenix, AZ, two sisters Anna Louise Lotko of Colorado and Jaline Gilbertson of Kansas City, Kansas. Eight grandchildren; Kelly Miller, Kim Link, Katy Miller, Jacob Hensley, Sarah Anderson, Kris Hennen, Jessie Blackwell and Karl Hennen and 11 great grandchildren. 

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Dudman Springs Cemetery, east of Carthage. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 23, 2015 at the Ulmer Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent at www.ulmerfh.com.
