Jacqueline Louise (Meese) Sumners passed away January 13th, just 18 days prior to her 91st birthday. Jackie was born in Joplin, Missouri and raised in Lamar, Missouri where she graduated from Lamar High School (Go Tigers).
She worked for Lawn Boy until she married Mynatt Sumners in 1956. They moved to Tulsa in 1963 where Jackie was a mother who was active in the PTA, bowling leagues, bridge clubs, investment clubs and her children’s sports.
Jackie loved golf, tennis, bowling, bridge, strawberry cake, family dinners and attending her kids and grandkids’ sporting events.
Our mom did not like funerals, so to honor her we will be having a small family memo-rial in the near future. Please feel free to donate to your favorite charity in Jackie’s name. Her charities of choice were the American Heart Association and the Lamar Sheltered Workshop.
Jackie was preceded in death by her husband Mynatt (Bud) Sumners.
She is survived by her brother George C. Meese of Bartlesville and sister JerriAnn Robinson of Tulsa, her children, Jon Sumners, Jana Sumners and Jill (Sumners) Drummond, four grandchildren, Lauran and Sydney Drummond and Jake and Hanna Sumners and many loved nieces and nephews.
