Marjorie Fausett

Marjorie Lou (Bales) Fausett passed in the comfort of her home on January 23, 2022 at the age of 100. She was born April 10, 1921 in Wheaton, Missouri to Joseph Willard Bales and Minnie Ethel (Duffield) Bales. She was one of six siblings, Marno Williams, Arvin Bales, Norman Bales, Bernadine Boyer and Wilma Walker, who she loved very much.

Marjorie moved to Neosho with her family as an infant and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Neosho High School in 1939. 








Marjorie married Walter Fausett, Jr. on October 27, 1940, they had seven children and were married 67 years before Walter's passing.

Marjorie baked for the Neosho Community for over 50 years and was most famous for her wedding and tea cakes. Marjorie and Walter volunteered for several years planting, watering and caring for the flowers in the Neosho Big Spring Park. Marjorie and Walter were given an award for flying their flag regularly and with pride from the Exchange Club of Neosho in 1979. 

She received the Edward D. Jones St. Heart of Gold in 1986; an award for her service to the Neosho school district from 1987-1996; she received the Golden Book of Deeds award from the National Exchange Club in 1989; was awarded the Friend of Education by the Neosho Community Teachers Association in 1995 and in 1997 was named Neosho's Citizen of the Year. Marjorie was a Brownie and Scout leader and loved her community. She also worked for her church, United Methodist, as Sunday school superintendent and teacher and she also delivered communion to shut ins and started a group for senior citizens at the church.

Marjorie will be loved and missed by her five daughters, Susan Thogmartin of Upland, California, Sally Williams of Neosho, Missouri, Sarah (Mark) Claussen of Socorro, New Mexico, Sandy (David) Brumback of Neosho, Missouri and Shaun (Roland) Severs of Stella, Missouri; one daughter-in-law, Patricia Fausett of Neosho, Missouri; eighteen grandchildren; thirty nine great grandchildren, including one on the way and eleven great great grandchildren, including one on the way. 

Marjorie is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Raif Fausett, Jr., her two sons, Larry Norman Fausett, Sr., Kelly Arvin Fausett and her grandson, Larry Norman Fausett, Jr.
