(From Clark Funeral Home)Virginia M. Garrison, 88, Joplin, formerly of Neosho, entered into rest on January 29, 2022, in the comfort of her home.
Virginia was born August 8, 1933, in Emporia, Kansas, one of eight children. The family relocated to Neosho and Virginia was a graduate of Neosho High School.
On November 22, 1950, Virginia married Daniel ‘Bo’ Garrison at the First Presbyterian Church in Neosho and he preceded her in death on October 13, 1999.
Virginia was an accomplished seamstress and clothing designer, owning and operating her business for over 65 years. In addition to her design business, Virginia had worked at La-Z-Boy in payroll, Community Bank and Trust in billing and Neosho Savings and Loan as a finance clerk.
Virginia enjoyed gardening and volunteered for the Sale Memorial Auxiliary and was a former member of ABWA. In 1950, she joined the First Presbyterian Church in Neosho and taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, served as an Elder and she and her husband, Bo, led the Sunday evening youth group for over ten years. Virginia had an extraordinarily strong faith and spent time daily reading her devotions and studying the Bible and sharing the love of God with others.
Virginia is survived by two daughters, Deborah ‘Debbie’ Gray and husband, Brett and Cynthia ‘Cindy’ Wolfe and husband, Jim; one sister, Mildred Hooker; two sisters-in-law, Connie McCreery and Barbara Rice; a brother-in-law, David Johnson and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband of 49 years, Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Hubert Hall, Kermit Wayne, and Philip McCreery and three sisters, Dorothy J. Bray, Carol Myrick and Mary Alyce Smith.
Services will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at 10 am at the First Presbyterian Church in Neosho, Rev. Will Lee will officiate. Interment will follow in the Neosho IOOF Cemetery and serving as pallbearers will be Kyler Ponder, Brett Gray, Ron Feagan and Phil Peck.
