(From Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home)Mr. Anthony Lynn “Tony” Wilson, 69, of Miller, Missouri, departed this life on Monday evening, January 17, 2022, at Cox Medical Center South in Springfield, Missouri.
Tony entered this life on November 22, 1952, in Joplin, Missouri, son of the late George and Ruth Colleen (Lasiter) Wilson. He was raised in Oronogo, Missouri and was a 1970, graduate of Webb City High School. He furthered his education by attending Cowley County Community College in Arkansas City, Kansas.
On December 11, 1971, he was united in marriage to Linda Kennedy and to this union two sons were born, Jeremy and Jason. They resided for several years in Winfield, Kansas, where Tony was employed by Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, retiring in 2000. In 2002, he and Linda moved to Branson, Missouri and later to Miller, Missouri, in 2011. Tony loved being outdoors. He enjoyed landscaping projects, traveling, painting and working in his vineyard. Tony was a Veteran of the United States Air Force.
Tony is survived by his wife of fifty years, Linda Wilson of the home; two sons, Jeremy Wilson of Miller and Jason Wilson and Jennifer Williams, of Joplin; four grandsons, Chad, Tyler, Colton and Curtis; a sister, Vickie Lyons of Joplin; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 24, 2022, in the chapel of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Terri Haywood officiating. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Wilson, Jason Wilson, Danny Reid, Christopher Blanchette, Richie Lyons and Kiman Kingsley with Wade Simmons, Steve Page and Darrel Haller serving as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2-4:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials are being directed to the American Cancer Society c/o the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
