(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Ruby Smith, age 94, of Joplin, Missouri passed away Wednesday January 26, 2022, following several
months of declining health.
She was born September 28, 1927, in Joplin, Missouri to Richard and Jesse Pearl (Messer) Tingle.
Ruby was employed with Southwestern Bell Telephone as an operator for 35 years. She was a lifelong area resident and a member of Community Chapel Church.
She married Delmar R. Smith June 23, 1946. Delmar was the love of her life and they celebrated 67 years of marriage. He preceded her in death on October 22, 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons; Gary W. Smith, Phillip R. Smith; two brothers, JR Tingle, Frank Tingle; four sisters, Juanita Whisner, Geneva Conrow, Nellie Fredricks, and Violet Gilliam.
Ruby is survived by one granddaughter, Michelle Robbins and husband Scot; three great grandchildren,
Joshua Robbins and wife Jasmine, Jeremy Robbins, Morgan Brown and husband Miles; one great great
grandchild, Jaxon Brown, a group of most beloved nieces and nephews, and a host of other family and
friends that all meant the world to her.
Ruby lived a great life serving the Lord and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday February 1, 2022, at Mason-Woodard Mortuary chapel with
Jeff Jones officiating. Entombment will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held 6:00-7:00 pm Monday January 31, 2022, at Mason-Woodard Mortuary.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary & Crematory Joplin, Missouri.
