(From Knell Mortuary)Ellisa “Lee” Margaret Williams, 83, Carthage, Missouri, passed away early Thursday morning, January 20, 2022, at Cox South Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. Lee was born August 26, 1938, in Manchester, England, the daughter of Margaret Standaloft.
Lee married James “Jim” Williams on November 20, 1968, in England. She owned and operated the Tailor Shop in Carthage. She was very creative and loved gardening, flowers, sewing, craft shows, jewelry, selling her crafts, but most of all, loved her family. Lee was very outgoing and loved people, never meeting a stranger.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Jim Williams; two daughters, Rene’ Wells (husband Jim), Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, and Alexandra Steele (husband Danny Tandy, Jr.); grandchildren, Nelson Wells (Christian), Ronnie Wells (Rebekah), James Wells (Phamie), Jack Wells (Christina), Victoria Lovell (Odie), Carsen Steele, and Maxwell Steele; two brothers, Christopher Standaloft and John Standaloft; a sister, Jane Ingram; six great-grandchildren with one on the way; and many extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Memorial services will be held 1 pm, Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Knell Mortuary, Carthage. Memorial gifts are suggested to Children’s Haven of Southwest Missouri in care of Knell Mortuary.
