Sylvia Patterson

Mrs. Sylvia Kathleen Patterson, 92, of Webb City, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, January 22, 2022, in the comfort of her home.

Sylvia entered this life on May 11, 1929, in Joplin, Missouri, one of two daughters born to the union of the late Roy and Sylvia (Atteberry) Oehring. She was raised in Webb City and was a 1947, graduate of Webb City High School. 










She was employed by Millers Manufacturing for several years as a seamstress, retiring in 1974. She was a talented seamstress and artist. She enjoyed playing the piano and trumpet, traveling, cooking, dancing, tennis and golf. Sylvia was a member of the RLDS Church in Webb City.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Patterson; a son, Mark Patterson; and a sister, Ruth Gray.

Sylvia is survived by her three daughters, Penny Gessler and husband, William, of Joplin, Carla Felts of Carl Junction and Angela Groff and husband, John, of Webb City; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2022, in the chapel of Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff White officiating. Those honoring her life by serving as pallbearers are Heather Nelson, Adrienne Gessler, John Groff, Skyler Nelson, William Gessler and James Copley. Burial will follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 5-7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of the Hedge-Lewis-Goodwin Funeral Home in Webb City, Missouri.
