Norman Parks

Norman Walter Parks, age 93, passed away at 2:15 pm, Saturday, January 15, 2022 at his home following an illness.

Norman was born January 4, 1929 in Wentworth, MO. His parents were Emmett Alvin and Anna Louise (Cruse) Parks. He lived in Wentworth and moved to Galena 65 years ago.

Norman retired from Farmers Chemical Company, Joplin, MO with 32 years of service. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Joplin, MO. Norman enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Norman was married to Geneva Charlene Miller on December 22, 1968 in Joplin, MO. She preceded him in death on December 6, 2016. He was also preceded in death by 5 sons, Norman Dale Parks, Ricky Lee Parks, Larry Dale Willhite, Albert Neil Willhite, and David Leon Willhite, and one daughter, Tammy Jane Willhite.

Survivors include one son, Gene Parks, and wife, Cindy Grandview, MO; two daughters, Pamela Lang, Galena, and Tammy Burns, and husband, Donald, Centerville, TN; 22 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Galena, KS. Chaplain David Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Sarcoxie Cemetery, Sarcoxie, MO.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm Wednesday until the service time.
