They raised four children, Carol, Susan, Ken, and Stan. Being a kind, dependable husband and father was of the utmost importance to Bill, and he certainly did not disappoint when it came to wholeheartedly loving his family.

As the son of a dairy farmer, Bill learned about hard work. In addition to a full-time job, he often had a second job in order to support his family. He worked at Campbell 66 and Sinclair Oil Company. He began working for Ross Martin Company in 1977 which eventually took him to Oklahoma City. After Bill and Roberta “retired” in 1994 and moved back to the family farm in Redings Mill, MO, he worked into his 80’s for State Beauty Supply in Joplin.

On the family farm he planted an organic garden and with Roberta sold produce from a vegetable stand. He enjoyed family genealogy research and discovery. The family reunions each year were a highlight and brought him joy! He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

Bill loved the Lord with all his heart and his church family at 26th and Connecticut Church of Christ. He served in numerous roles including elder. He created many wonderful memories with family, friends, co-workers, and his church family. He will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the 26th & Connecticut Church of Christ, Joplin, MO.
