Jeremy Neal

Jeremy O. Neal, Sr., 47, of Olathe, Kansas, entered into rest on January 20, 2022, following a short illness.

Jeremy was born on June 15, 1974 in Gravette, AR. He grew up in Neosho, MO, which he always considered home. He graduated from Neosho High School in 1993 and enlisted in the Navy following graduation. He served from 1994-2007 and again from 2011-2015. Rank STG3 (Sonar Technician Surface 3rd Class)








Jeremy spent his adult life in Olathe, KS. He worked on the railroad with Kansas City Southern for years. More recently, he was a shop manager for 3 locations of First Student - Gardner, DeSoto, and Wellsville. He worked for First Student for almost 20 years. On weekends, he worked for SantaFe Tow. Jeremy always provided for his family no matter what.

On weekends over the years, Jeremy could be found umpiring or refereeing a local ball game. He was a proud member of the Olathe South Booster Club, and served on the board as well. Jeremy was a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan. He rooted for Kansas University and the Kansas City Royals as well.

Jeremy was known for his easy-going nature and generosity. He was hard working, driven and passionate. He had a fun, goofy personality and was loved by all. Jeremy was counting down the days until he could move home to Neosho. He was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on November 16, 2021.

Jeremy was survived by his wife, Cassandra Dyan Marsh Neal, sons Jeremy “JJ” Owen Neal, Jr. and Jordin Wesley Neal, and daughter Layla Dyan Marsh of Olathe, KS; baby mama Jennifer Lynn Moppin of Olathe, KS; mother Virginia Ann Wilder and dad Gary “Herk” Eldon Wilder of Neosho, MO; brother Jason Michael Weisshaar of Springfield, MO; brother Seth Adam Wilder and wife Janel Elaine Wilder of Neosho, MO; uncle James Rodney Neal and aunt Cathy Ann Neal of Neosho, MO; uncle Randy Henson and aunt Venita Henson of Neosho, MO; uncle Ron Warren and aunt Jan Warren of Corpus Christi, TX; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles, all of which he loved dearly. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Ken Henson; grandparents, Denzil and June Thrasher; grandfather Don Henson; grandparents Virgil & Gladys Louise Spencer; aunts Connie Henson and Karen Louise DePung; uncles Michael Eugene Neal and Kenneth Leroy Neal, all of Neosho, MO.

Services will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. Celebration of Life and Memorial to be announced in Olathe, KS.
