(From Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home)William Paul Papas, 88, of Verona, Missouri entered into eternal rest on Thursday January 13, 2022 while at his home in Verona. He was born in Kirksville, Missouri on January 2, 1934; the son of the late Tom and Harriet (George) Papas.
He was united in marriage on January 11, 2002 in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Kathleen Macklin; she survives.
He was retired from Lockheed-Martin and the United States Air Force where he served his country during the Korean War as well as the Vietnam War.
William is survived by his wife Kathleen of the home; one stepson: Charles Johnson of Joplin; one stepdaughter: Pam Johnson of Oronogo, Missouri; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Tom and Harriet and his son Tom Papas.
Graveside services for William are being held on Wednesday January 19, 2022 at 11:00a.m. at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bennett-Wormington Funeral Home in Monett, Missouri.
