Genevieve Waltz, age 93, formerly of Jasper, Missouri died Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Good Shepherd Nursing Center, Lockwood, Missouri.
Genevieve was born September 4, 1925 in Jasper County to Floyd Pennington and Lillian (Moore) Pennington. She was a Jasper High School graduate.
On June 24, 1945 she married George Harrison Waltz and together they raised four children. She was a farm wife and loved working in the fields and with the cattle, but her biggest love was her horses.
Genevieve is survived by two daughters, Barbara Pagacz (Sam Foster) and Debra (Charles) Willhite, all of Lamar, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Samantha (Russ) Hall, Jasper, Missouri, Valerie (Jim) McGrady, Pittsburg, Missouri, Nicholas (Stacy) Foster, Asbury, Missouri, Michael (Tana) Foster, Lockwood, Missouri, Melanie (Ryan) Jones, Barling, Arkansas, Amie Primm, Jasper, Missouri, Bradley (Jama) Waltz, Jasper, Missouri, Tabbitha (Brad) Stansell, Wisconsin; and Abby Duncan, Lamar, Missouri; a daughter-in-law, Villa Waltz, Jasper, Missouri, her late daughter Vicky’s partner in life, Eddie Bastings, Carterville, Missouri 25 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband George Waltz, a son, Gary Waltz, a daughter, Vicky Myers; two grandchildren, Buffy Russell and Jeremy Duncan, and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Daniel Funeral Home with a graveside service to follow at Fasken Cemetery, east of Carthage, Missouri at 2:30 pm.
