Joseph Sinclair Ogle 92, of Joplin, MO died April 20, 2019 at the Joplin Gardens Rehab Facility in Joplin, MO following an illness.
Joseph was born August 18, 1926 in Kansas City, MO the son of Oscar O. and Helen A. (Schafer) Ogle. He was a graduate of Westport High School in Kansas City, MO.
Following high school, he joined the United States Navy serving his country in WWII. On September 5, 1954 Joseph married Phyllis Marie Burke in Kansas City, KS; she survives at the home.
Joseph worked for Phillips Petroleum as a pipefitter and later Sewell Plastics in Kansas City, KS before retiring in 1982. Joseph was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He loved fishing, playing billiards, working outside and walking hand in hand with his bride of 64 years.
Survivors include his wife; children Vickie McCraw and husband Jim of Houston, TX, Mary H. Monzel and husband Steve of Salisbury, MD, Joseph M. Ogle of Tulsa, OK, Kathryn A. Ogle of Kearney, MO and Donna S. McNutt and fiancée Mike Zimmerman of Joplin, MO; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Joseph was preceded in death by his parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Monday April 29, 2019 at the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Jerome Spexarth and Fr. Joseph Weidenbenner as concelebrants. Burial will follow at the Ft. Scott National Cemetery in Ft. Scott, KS. Rosary will be recited at 4:30pm Sunday April 28, 2019 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg, KS; family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00pm following the rosary. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to St. Judes.
