Tom Collingsworth

Mr. Thomas Dewey “Tom” Collingsworth, 65, of Enid, Oklahoma, departed this life on Sunday, April 28, 2019, while at Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, after a sudden illness.

Tom entered this life on September 17, 1953, in Joplin, Missouri, one of five children born to Carl Dewey “Doc” and Mona Lee (Morris) Collingsworth. He was raised in Southwest City, Missouri and was a 1971 graduate of McDonald County High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting at Missouri Southern State College in Joplin, receiving his CPA credentials in 1975.

On April 17, 1976, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth “Betty” Kindell and to this union a son and daughter were born. He was a CPA in Tulsa for seven years before moving to Enid, Oklahoma, in 1983, where he became Chief Financial Officer/Partner of 101 Energy. He enjoyed cooking, traveling and woodworking.

His father, Doc Collingsworth, preceded him in death.








Tom is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Betty Collingsworth of the home; two children, Matthew Collingsworth and wife, Krystle, of Edmond, Oklahoma and Sara Karber and husband, Chase, also of Edmond; two grandchildren, Bennett Collingsworth and Lily Karber; his mother, Mona Collingsworth of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; two brothers, Jim Collingsworth and wife, Cindy, of Indian Wells, California and Dave Collingsworth and wife, Kitty, of Southwest City, Missouri; two sisters, Lynn Coleman and husband, Buddy, of Springdale, Arkansas and Janet Francisco and husband, Ronnie, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; several nieces and nephews as well as a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services will be held graveside on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the Southwest City Cemetery in Southwest City, Missouri, with Father Chuck Tobin officiating. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Matthew Collingsworth, Chase Karber, Mike Kindell, Ronnie Francisco, Cody Francisco, Shelby Francisco and Mitchell Lett. In lieu of flowers please send a contribution in Tom’s name to the Chisholm School System in Enid, Ok for the computer programs department.
