Patsy Kay Kelley Carnes, 78, of Anderson, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Patsy was born to the union of the late, Lowell and Ethel (Carlson) Kelley in Monett, Missouri on May 25, 1940. Patsy grew up in Monett and attended school there.
She married Melvin Jessie Carnes in June 27, 1957 in Monett, Missouri and to this union two daughters were born. They moved to California where she was a homemaker for 13 years. Then decided to move home to Anderson, Missouri in 1971, where she worked with Melvin in the janitorial business; raising chickens and could always be seen with Melvin at auctions. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, crocheting and making quilts. She taught and played the piano in which she took 11 years of lessons.
She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Ruth Kelley Power, Betty Ann Sage; a brother, Lowell "Junior" Kelley; a son-in-law, Dennis Joe Sanders; a grandchild, Nicholas Joe Sanders; three great grandchildren, Keira Brooke Hemingway, Taylor Marie Good and Hailey LeAnne Good.
Patsy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Melvin Carnes of the home; two daughters, Jessie Kay Sanders of Anderson, Missouri, Janice Marie Broemmer and husband, B. of Bentonville, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; a great great grandson; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will dearly miss Patsy.
Graveside Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at the Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Butterfield, Missouri. Pastor Billy Joe Gentry will officiate. Friends and family are welcomed to join us at visitation Friday, April 26, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Anderson Chapel of The Ozark Funeral Home.
