Jeanne Myers

Mrs. Shirley “Jeanne” Myers, 76, of Stotts City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri, surrounded by her loving family.

Jeanne entered this life on May 27, 1944 in Springfield, Missouri to the late Robert and Shirley (Spellman) Stirewalt. She was a graduate of Mount Vernon High school. 

On May 19, 1962 she was united in marriage to Melvin Myers. Together they shared fifty-eight years. For several years she was an Educator for Christian Schools. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stotts City. 

Jeanne loved her grandchildren dearly. Jeanne had a love for traveling and camping. She loved spending time in her camper. She and Melvin traveled near and far, stopping at many camp sites including federal and state parks. Jeanne loved her family deeply and will be truly be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert “Bob” and Shirley Stirewalt; brother, Reverend Randall Stirewalt.








Jeanne is survived by her husband, Melvin; sons, Terry Myers and wife, Rhonda, of Ft. Scott, Kansas and Michael Myers and wife, Cindy, of Sarcoxie, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jessica Flynn and husband, Rowdy, Colton Myers and wife, Sierra, Justin Myers, Marshall Myers and wife, Melanie, and Mitchell Myers; seven great-grandchildren, Kaydence, Trace, Kole, Brantley, Emma Kay, Hoyt and Hayden Fay; siblings, Nancy Gould and husband, Leon, of Chesapeake, Missouri and Kenny Stirewalt and wife, Sharon, of Nixa, Missouri; and sister-in-law, Phyllis Stirewalt of Springfield, Missouri: several nieces and nephews; her beloved pet, “Chris”; as well as a host of other family and friends.

Graveside funeral service for Mrs. Myers, are 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2020 at Fasken Cemetery, east of Carthage, with Pastor Tim Blankenship officiating. Those honoring her life by servicing as pallbearers will be her grandsons.
