(From Carson-Wall Funeral Home)Michael (Mick) Lee Morris 75, was born January 24, 1945 to Shirley Margaret (Stobart) and John Robert Morris. He graduated from Girard High School in 1963 and enlisted in the Army Reserves and completed a six-month tour of duty. He then returned to Girard and began work at Va-Co-Hy Printing Company, later known as FMI until 1978.
He married Lynda Munson in 1965 and had three children and later they divorced. In 1975 he married Merla (Dorsey) Pruitt who survives him and resides in the home.
In 1978 he and four colleagues began a printing company of their own known as Perfection Forms Inc, where he worked, until they sold out to large corporation and retired in 1999. He enjoyed traveling and golf.
He is preceded in death by his parents, maternal grandparents Anna Leota Everitt & Robert Stobart, and paternal grandparents Hannah (Thompson) & John Joseph Morris.
Mick is survived by his four children; Troy Morris (Jennifer) of Frontenac, KS; Connie Beth Chaney of Overland Park, KS; Adam Morris (Monica) of Joplin, MO; and Lisa Kissane-Talley (James) of Topeka, KS. He is survived by many grandchildren: Jake Morris (Sabrina), Will Morris, J.T. Morris, Max Morris, Cole Ferraro, Lauren Chaney, Robbie Chaney, Madison Chaney, Tiffany Hargroder (Lane), Brittney Morris, Vanessa Morris, Stephanie Talley (Cody), Brent Talley, Courtney Talley, and Morgan Kissane.
Graveside memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday at the Girard Cemetery with Pastor Rick Prideaux officiating.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard where friends may call after 2:00 p.m., Thursday.
