(From Knell Mortuary)Stephen Wayne Jespersen, 67, Carthage, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at St. Luke’s Nursing Center, Carthage. Stephen was born October 23, 1952 in Neosho, Missouri, the son of Raymond Leslie Jespersen and Betty Jean (Wiseman) Jespersen.
He graduated from McDonald County High School and attended Missouri State University. He worked as a software development engineer for Jack Henry & Associates in Monett, Missouri from 1993 until his retirement in July of 2016.
He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, Carthage. He enjoyed working woodworking, golfing, going to the lake, but most of all, loved his family.
Survivors include his love, Peggy Ralston; a son, Russell Jespersen (Julie), Pierce City, Missouri; a daughter, Stephanie Cates, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Hope Raulston, Addisyn Cates, Reagan Cates, Garrett Jespersen, and Carson Jespersen; a brother, Terry Jespersen, Kansas City; and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, David Jespersen.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Grace Episcopal Church, Carthage. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Banner Cemetery, Split Log, Missouri.
