(From Parker Mortuary)Lillian Gayle Tilton, 68, of Joplin, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020.
Gayle was born July 17, 1952, in Lake Providence, Louisiana, to the late Bryant Tilton and Grace (Guest) Tilton.
Gayle had lived in the Joplin area most of her life, attending school in Carthage. Gayle worked for several years at the Pillsbury Plant in Joplin and later in home health.
Gayle loved to crochet and paint. She even had one of her paintings published in a calendar. She was very involved at the nursing home where she resided and was named resident of the month. She loved her cats, but most of all family, was what she held very dear to her heart.
Gayle was a strong Christian woman who was very proud of her Christian faith. She loved to share her faith with others and was an avid reader of her bible. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents, Gayle was preceded in death by her brother, James Tilton, on January 21, 2017.
Survivors include her brother, Howard Smith and wife, Gwenn, Webb City, MO; as well as extended family and friends.
Graveside services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m.at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery. Pastor John Boyd will officiate.
Arrangements are under the personal care and direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
