(From Mason-Woodard Mortuary)Steven Alan Esch, age 59 of Joplin, Mo., passed away on February 2, 2021 at Mercy Hospital of Northwest Arkansas with his children and family at his side.
Steven was born on October 19, 1961 in Kansas City, Missouri to Dave and Masolyne (Owens) Esch. He was a kind and loving family man. Steve was known for his contagious smile that lit up every room he walked into. He treasured being Grandpa to his two grandsons. Steve was an avid sports fan who loved the outdoors and fishing.
He attended St. Mary’s Colgan and graduated from Pittsburg State University with his bachelor’s degree in biology with a minor in chemistry. He worked with Jayhawk Fine Chemicals Corporation for over 20 years as department manager.
Steven was preceded in death by niece Melissa Esch.
He is survived by his three children, Spencer Esch and wife Jessica of Overland Park, KS., Sydney Esch of Baxter Springs, KS., and Sawyer Esch of Kansas City, MO., grandsons, Brayden Esch and Leighton Fondren, his parents Dave and Masolyne Esch of Joplin, MO., brothers David Esch Jr. of St. Louis, Mo., Brian and wife Marla Esch of Bentonville, Ar., Mark Esch of Joplin, MO., and a sister Tammie Vlach and husband Chris of Bonner Springs, KS., nieces and nephews Kaitlyn, Anthony, Margaret, Elizabeth, Andrew, Clayton, Jordyn, Cole, and Quin., as well as beloved extended family and many friends.
Private family services have been scheduled for a later date.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Mason-Woodard Mortuary and Crematory, Joplin, Missouri.
