James Moore

(From Ozark Funeral Home)

James Edward Moore, 79, of Anderson, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Seneca House in Seneca, Missouri, after months of failing health.

Born on January 11, 1945, in Converse, Louisiana, to the late Thomas James and Pearl Lee (Constable) Moore. James's life was a testament to his resilience, kindness, and unwavering faith.

Raised in Pleasant Hill, Louisiana, James attended local schools and laid the foundations of a life marked by hard work and commitment.

On February 24, 1964, he married his first love, Bonnie Ruth Laidlaw, and together they welcomed five sons into the world. In 1999, James moved from Springdale, Arkansas, to Anderson, Missouri, where he continued to build his life and share his talents.

After Bonnie's passing on June 6, 2006, James found love again and married Betty Guinn on July 7, 2007. The couple shared fourteen years of companionship before Betty's passing on August 27, 2021.

James was a Master Plumber by trade, a profession he excelled in throughout his life. His skilled hands and problem-solving abilities were not only evident in his work but also in the way he lived his life, always ready to help those in need. In addition to his plumbing career, James was a dedicated Gospel Minister, sharing his faith and serving his community with passion and grace.

Music was one of James's greatest joys. He loved playing the piano and guitar, filling the air with melodies that reflected his gentle spirit. Dancing was another of his passions, and he could often be found gliding across the dance floor, a smile on his face and rhythm in his step. These interests were more than hobbies; they were expressions of his love for life and the joy he found in simple pleasures.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wives Bonnie and Betty, his son Daniel Ray Moore, and his sister Pearl Marie Brian.

James is survived by his four sons, Joseph Moore and wife Sandra of Bentonville, Arkansas; Mark Moore and wife Marcella of Anderson, Missouri; James Moore and wife Tonia, also of Anderson; and John Moore and wife Ashley of Tiff City, Missouri. His twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren will miss their grandfather's gentle guidance and unwavering support. A host of other family members and friends will also feel the absence of James's kind spirit in their lives.

Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2024 at Tracy Cemetery in Anderson, Missouri with Pastor Jamey Cope officiating. Those honoring his life by serving as pallbearers are Joseph Moore, Mark Moore, James, Moore, John Moore, Devyn Moore and Matt Robbins. The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Arrangements are under the care of Ozark Funeral Home in Anderson, Missouri.
