Ruth Manor

(From Roller-Christeson Funeral Home)

Ruth Manor, age 91, of Carthage, Missouri, gained her heavenly wings on May 4th, 2024. She was born January 28 th , 1933, in Minot, North Dakota, to Gisle and Delina Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jay Manor; siblings, Don, Audrey, and June; a son, Thomas Manor; and a daughter, Kathryn Teeter.

She is survived by her daughters, Linda Hamilton, Sandra Gregg, and Robyn Manor; son-in-law, Art Teeter; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a brother Bill Johnson, who passed away on May 14, 2024.

Ruth enjoyed doing many crafts over the years including sewing, knitting, crocheting, and ceramics. She was most happy when creating something for someone in the family. Baby blankets, doll clothes, socks, scarves, and ceramic treasures. Ruth loved people and was well-liked by everyone who knew her. Ruth came to know Jesus Christ as her savior. She was looking forward to leaving this earth and spending eternity with Jesus and seeing her children that have gone before her.

Ruth was particularly proud of her time being employed by General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas. When she quit to join her husband in Arkansas, they gave her a picture of a fighter plane with dozens of signatures and the following poem. She spoke often of her time there and the friendships she made along the way.

"Sometime when you have a moment to spare – relaxing on your porch or in your easy chair, let us all suggest a little something for you, think of us for a moment or two. And when we think of the things we all shared awhile. The lunches, conversations, and good morning smiles. When the conversation's we're having lead back to you, we'll think of you for a moment or two."

Ruth was cremated and her remains have been placed in a niche next to her husband of 60 years, Jay Manor, at Fayetteville National Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Integrity Hospice Care for loving mom through her last days and Roller-Christeson Funeral Home in Harrison, AR and Knell Mortuary in Carthage, MO for their kindness and help with the final arrangements.
