Charlie Lassiter

Charles “Charlie” Lassiter, age 79, of Joplin, MO passed away on May 18, 2024, in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones.

Charlie was born on April 6, 1945, in Webb City, MO to his parents Walter and Zelma (Kirby) Lassiter.
He married his beloved wife, Sharron (Duncan), on June 28, 1975, in Webb City, MO. She remained by his side until the very end.








Charlie was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Zelma; two brothers, Ralph “Butch” Lassiter and Jack Lassiter; and one sister, Patricia (Lassiter) Morrill.

He is survived by his wife, Sharron; one brother, William “Bill” Lassiter of Colorado Springs, CO; five children, Kelly (Lassiter) Streck of Mexico, MO, Teresa (Lassiter) Whobrey of Salisbury, MO, Steven Lassiter of Columbia, MO, Heather Lassiter of Joplin, MO, and Nathan Lassiter of Joplin, MO; six grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.

Charlie was known for his gifts of help, loyalty, and love. He had the ability to repair almost anything. He was always willing to lend a hand, give advice, and air up bike tires as the neighborhood shade tree mechanic. As the neighborhood grandpa, he was always ready to pass out candy. Being the man of God he was, he never shied away from others; giving wisdom, love, and advice to those who needed guidance. As a father, he showed pure love for his family. He will be forever missed by those who knew and loved him.







In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Life Choices, Joplin, MO. Donations may be made c/o Mason-Woodard Mortuary, Joplin, MO.

Visitation will be held at 9:00 am at Joplin Family Worship Center on Thursday, May 23, 2024. Services to follow at 10:00 am at the same location.

Arrangements are in care of Mason- Woodard Mortuary and Crematory.
