Roberta Towery

Roberta Louise Towery, age 94, passed away on May 25, 2024, after a lengthy illness. She was born to Chester Ralph Ransbottom and Mabel Bernice (Russell) Ransbottom on December 12, 1929, in Independence, Kansas. 

Roberta married William (Bill) Towery on February 20, 1949, in Independence, Kansas. Bill preceded her in death on May 30, 2016.








Roberta had a rich career in retail sales, working at Lindsey’s Department Store, JC Penney, and McGinty's before retiring. She also sold Avon products. A faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1958, Roberta was deeply involved in her church community. She was known for her cooking skills, especially in preparing funeral meals and Wednesday night church dinners. Additionally, Roberta was an accomplished seamstress, making wedding dresses and sports coats for family members.

Roberta is survived by her daughter, Debbie Towery of Neosho, Missouri, and her son, Gale (Debbie) Towery of Norman, Oklahoma. Her legacy includes grandchildren Rick (Krystal) Towery, Ryan (Tonya) Crawford, Travis Towery(Misty,) Craig (Julie) Crawford, several step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and a great-great-granddaughter on the way. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Janis Kirk, grandson, baby Kirk, her parents, and her sister Margrite Hare.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 5-6 pm at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho, Missouri. Funeral services will be conducted on June 1, 2024, at 10 am at Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Neosho, Missouri with Craig Towery officiating.








Pallbearers honoring Roberta will include Rick Crawford, Ryan Crawford, Travis Towery, Elijah Crawford, Craig Towery, and Gale Towery. Honorary Pallbearers will be Gene Pettit, Gene Ferguson, and Ray Arndt.

Roberta will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will always remember her kindness, dedication, and talents.
