Danny McMullen

Danny Dale McMullen, passed peacefully surrounded by his beloved family in his home on June 14, 2024, in Pierce City, Missouri, at the age of 70.

Danny was born on January 26, 1954, in Joplin, Missouri, to the late Kenneth and Joan (Jones) McMullen. He was the second of four children. 






Danny grew up living life to the fullest while fishing, hunting, and working hard. As an adult, Danny was a faithful employee for Humphrey’s Spring Company and later International Trucking. He retired from sales with Weldon Parts. He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Melissa Smith of Rogers, AR and Emily Wade (and husband Dan) of Webb City, MO.

Danny continued to be an avid bow hunter, taking trophies and medals in several shooting competitions. He was always lending a hand to help friends and family, whether they were fixing something or getting into mischief. Danny also loved playing pool, which led him to meet his loving wife, Bonnie McMullen, of 19 years. Together they have built a life of commitment and joy.

Danny is a life member of the Archery Big Bucks of Missouri, having taken a legal, trophy buck whose antlers scored 97 7/8. He earned this achievement in 1987 while he was serving as President of the Cherokee Bow Hunters Club.

In retirement, Danny spent his days cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs, tinkering in his wood shop, working alongside Bonnie on their 10 acres, and loving on his grandchildren and great-grandchild.








Danny's legacy is carried on by his devoted wife, Bonnie; his loving children, Melissa Smith and Emily Wade (Dan); his adored grandchildren, Jason Smith, Paige Eagle (Kyler), Tyler Wade, Isaac Wade, and Nick Wade; his cherished great-grandchild, Evie Smith, and his sister, Kathy Case. He is also survived by friends that were more like family and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Danny was preceded in death by his brother, Rick McMullen of Saginaw, MO, and his stepson, Gary Boake of Canada.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. at Parker Mortuary. Arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Mo.
