(From Parker Mortuary)Calvin Michael ‘Mike’ Barnard, age 59 of Joplin, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 27, 2024 at Joplin Health and Rehab where Mike has been a resident for the past several years.
Mike was born on January 14, 1965 in Joplin to the late Calvin E. and Louana (Spencer) Barnard. A lifetime resident of the Joplin area, Mike graduated from Joplin’s Memorial High with the class of 1984. He started working with his father in the family business directly after graduation, CE Barnard Construction. Mike became handicap after contracting meningitis and has been resident of Joplin Health and Rehab since then.
Mike was known by his contagious laugh and smile. His tender and loving heart will be remembered by his family and friends. When younger, Mike attended Central Christian Center in Joplin.
Those left to mourn his passing include a brother, William ‘Bill’ Barnard and fiancé, Dana Anderson of Joplin; sisters, Patty Barnard of Joplin and Melissa Barnard of Pittsburg, Kansas; plus 7 nieces and nephews
Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Parker Mortuary Chapel. Graveside will directly follow at Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery in Joplin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in care of the mortuary.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Parker Mortuary, Joplin, Missouri.
